Unite Here Local 737 contract victory!

This week, just a few weeks after the massive action with CBTU at your annual convention, union members at the Hilton Buena Vista Palace voted to ratify their new contract!

Highlights include:

—More Union jobs, fewer temp agency jobs. 

—Huge wage increases.

—Lower medical insurance costs for employee coverage. 

—20% automatic gratuity on all guest checks for servers and bartenders at Shades and Sunnies.

—Increased gratuity on breakfast coupons at Letterpress. 

—Lower workload for housekeepers on heavy checkout days. 

—Increased job protections for immigrant workers.

The bargaining committee, hotel workers, and the rest of Unite Here Local 737 are so proud of the work we did together with CBTU and grateful for the solidarity you showed. It was an incredible experience to see members of so many unions, from so many places, march out of the hotel. A highlight of the contract fight for so many of us!
